"Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men." - Lord Acton
This is true with notable exceptions. The first that comes to mind is Washington. He gave up total power not once but three times. Unfortunately he is one of the rare ones. Most those we think of as great were far from nice people.
I look at them thought the prism of history. What good did they create? What lasting changes did they make? The judgment as to good or evil I leave to God.
What many here do not understand is the rule of law vs. the rule of men. While the law can be flawed it is the arbitrary rule of men that is the great danger. The law restricts men from the use of power. This was understood by the left very well when security issues came up with Bush. It seems to be totally forgotten when Obama came into office. Liberals support his actions based on their own likes and desires; not the written law. Not that this has not been a problem with liberals for some time now. I said many times; liberals work on the “whatever it takes†principle. We need only look at Roe vs. Wade to understand how awful the results of such thinking are.
Agree or disagree with Roe vs. Wade and the need or crime of abortion; the way it was forced on the country has created a divide that is unending. Liberals should fall to the ground and think Mother Earth that conservatives believe in the rule of law as much as we do. Otherwise there would be no liberals left.
With a few notable exceptions, that were universally condemned, conservatives have never taken up arms in support of the children they see murdered. You will see liberals flocking to every “event†they think the press will cover while conservatives do their best to work within the system for change; for which they earn the title of fascist from the liberals.

There are three kind of liberals;
Stupid, ignorant or evil
The result is always evil but the intent is not always evil. Not that it makes much difference in the long run.
