Or maybe we are sane and think that private industry could just stand to do a better job taking care of the workforce.

You know, wanting to see a solution to the problem that doesn't involve throwing the baby out with the bathwater?

It saddens me that there are people whose lives are so black and white.

I think I saw one episode out of 5 or 6 I watched where the CEO listened, the show aired some fairly negative things that were NOT just about trivial operations flaws, and the actions taken were intriguing and educational.

Then I watched a few more and gave up. I realized it is what you suspect it is: Another way of getting some publicity for the companies participating without giving practical re-usable lessons or practical insight to the viewer.

I'm not sure why that one earlier show was better. Maybe it is because they knew it would hook people and trick them into thinking the show was better, so they moved it near the front of the rotation. Then dropped the rest of the drivel on them in later episodes.
