It is an AWFUL show. I dont' understand how anyone can watch it. What an insipid bunch of garbage.

Only seen the UK and Swedish versions and those were fairly solid.
Noone is living in the ghetto or near minimum wage for starters.
I mean best case it's company leaders making an effort to know their business and emplyees better, worst case it's a one-off deal and a way to get some positive media coverage.
The other options is to do nothing and not giving a fuck at all, tell me how that's better?

Freedom isn't free, it is inevitable that at some point we are going to have this basic fight to the death again. Being born and raised in NYC was for me a very enlightening experience in very different terms than some of the other NYC residents that post here. I've met and had a great many conversations with people from former Soviet bloc countries.
I can tell you in no uncertain terms that they didn't fight to get here because socialism (which is what communism is an outgrowth of) was good to them or their families. People who have lived through such periods know full well what socialism really is when enacted on large scales. It is murderous, soul crushing oppression...for the greater good of course. (clarity for idiots, that last bit is sarcasm)
True capitalism has lifted by orders of magnitude far more people out of poverty than any other system of civilization. Unfortunately too many ignorant people these days fall into a leftist induced stupor that capitalism is bad because the economic leftists will pretend that crony capitalism / fascism / corporatism, they will pretend that those things are capitalism and then blame capitalism instead of those. And the real irony is that they will in the same breath laud and promote more state fascism as a means to fix the woes of the poor.
It would be just laughably sad if it wasn't maddeningly schizophrenic.
