i was thinking about getting a soundbar due to , and while they've become a lot better i ended up deciding it would be better to start putting together a quality system, starting with a quality a/v receiver, mid-high end l/r and center speakers.
in time i'll add in the other speakers when i have a better space for them, but it's way better and more flexible than soundbar for now.
