Ash u were at Darby? Munitions, medical or arty? It is a sub camp of vincenza now.

Well it has been decided and this is either going to turn out really bad or even worse. We are on the way to Milan to a place called Alcatraz to meet this majors wife, her widowed sister and some others. If there is a god in this world please let these women be under 200 lbs!

I was signal. I was part of the 509th Signal Battalion, 167th Signal Company, forward platoon. Our platoon was the only one from the company stationed in Darby. The rest of the platoon was in Vicenza.

I am pretty sure the 509th was downsized and eliminated sometime in the late 90s after I got out. Also, not sure how it is now but there was no medical unit stationed there at the time, just us, an MP company, and a bunch of USAF peeps who were there to guard the ammo dump. The whole base was basically an MWR site.
