after watching several episodes of Mike Holmes show, I have to ask
wtf is a cold cellar? It just seems odd. Is that where you hide the bodies?

As an Alaskan, I feel qualified to answer this.
Basically, an underground fridge/freezer. We used to have one that stored various meats/fish.
In very cold climates, if you can dig a pit under/near the permafrost layer...poof, free refridgeration.

An uninsulated portion of the basement. Handy for storing things that don't require refrigeration but need it cool. (Think potatoes and beer.)

Opinion = fact. Anecdote = proof. Political label more important than either of those.

I could use one of those during the summer here in Vegas. I'd sleep in it from April till October.

Yeah, it's a good place for potatoes. My parents don't drink alcohol, so we didn't store beer there. However, that would be a fabulous spot.

Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, 'Where have I gone wrong?' Then a voice says to me, 'This is going to take more than one night.'
Elitist.

According to Marengo cave if I dig far enough under my house it will be a constant 52.1 degrees.
Not sure how far down you have to go for that though.
