Yep - happened the last time I test drove a car, which was about a year ago. I was rather surprised.

I've had it go both ways. Some just hand you the key and wave goodbye. Others want you to sign your life away just to do the test drive...

Yep when I went to test drive a 328xi sport wagon... had it fueled up and ready to test drive. But had already chatted with the salesman over the phone and email a couple of times.
