also in MA I'm pretty sure they require a receipt that you bought oil there and you have to bring the oil back in the empty containers you bought from them.
that's how it used to be, not sure if they've lightened up since I moved back.
as of 6 months ago they were still doing this.
Walmart is a PITA with oil drops.
my father has a customer that has a burner...great way to get rid of it!

Auto places are happy to take pure oil, they won't take it with the contaminates...

dump it on the road...there's oil in the pavement!
OR...go to a parking lot and pour a few cups under cars and watch both the panic and lack of attention of people.
