I mostly liked them, but he kept killing people off without any rhyme or reason. He spent countless words building up a character and then kills them without any build up to the killing. Just oh, story getting good - you are dead from something unrelated to the good story.

Don't forget that he could have cut at least 200 pages out of the last book by not describing in detail every damn meal a person ate. I don't need a 4 page list of food laid out on the table, thank you very much.
