House mod I'm thinking about.

Thinking of turning our small bedroom that we do not use into a master bath. Looking at a triangular shape whirlpool tub nearly 6 feet by 6 feet (if we can get it into the room thru the hall), a nice sink/cabinet combo, and a nice toilet. No shower. Would have to move or remove the wall heater. I want to do sunken lighting in the ceiling along with ceiling fixtures with heat lamps and a fan. Also lighting above the mirror. Plan to leave the closet right were it is and the wife wants to leave the 35" flatscreen on the wall too.
We'll see what it costs, but honestly I think we would use it a lot.

my parents just finished their master bath in the basement, they went with a wide rectangle rub with jets (two person size tub), heated tile floor, heated towel rack.
They couldn't fit a triangle tub through the doorway, otherwise they would have gone with that. my dad did some pretty nice tile work on the floor, surround and walls too.
They started with just a utility sink... so it's a huge improvement.

Perfect. I plan to do a lot of the work too. Those heated towel racks are damned expensive! We looked at those and decided against it. I looked at a heated floor when I did the kitchen and decided against it. It might be possible on this floor since there will be so little floor left. I didn't think about that before, thanks! I don't care about the heat, but the wife loves it.

I think before I do the work I will need to clear the room and try bringing in the tub. If it won't go then I will not have done anything I have to undo.

I thought about that. The area would be wide enough, but I would rather use the extra area for cabinets. Anyone that's ever lived in a house knows you always need more storage. And, there is still the other bathroom plus my wife doesn't wear makeup. I know it might be better for the resale, but we never plan to sell. We just want to make it best for us.
