Outside of jobs like these,if you go to work for the Federal Government, be prepared to work with a bunch of stuffy, old people. It's certainly not an ideal workplace by my standards, especially if you are new to the area and are trying to establish a social network.

Odd.
I've been applying to stuff, on and off, with USAJobs for a year or so now. I just set up a profile, uploaded my resume - and use my resume to fill in the applications via the sub-sites for various agencies. I've never had to input my Selective service number, Mother's maiden name, or license # for a job.
I've had to note that I'm signed up for selective service, or that I have a license. But none of the other stuff.
