that was the first movie that came to mind for me too.

it bugs me when I watch that movie (and I like that movie a lot too), because I'm always thinking how it seems like the rain (that they are always praying won't come yet) would be what you woudl want in that situation...

I mean, if you can't swim at all, sure (which is likely for those people, since they are a hunter/gatherer village, they don't fish so not being able to swim is expected)...but that's not the only movie they do that in.

Want another example? Watch Indiana Jones 4 and the ending where the whole "city" is crashing down around them, yet they get to the deep well, unscathed, that quickly fills with water but just gently spits them out at the top.


And, yes, Hollywood thinks moviegoers are stupid. That's not news.
