I can trust a career anything, but yeah politicians tend to be vastly one of the least moral, corrupt professions in this country, even more so than lawyers
I'd rather hire a engineer who is a practicing PE. Or really, any scientist that has a objective track record. Who says you need to be a governor or senator to be the President?

Only those who dare to fail greatly, can ever achieve greatly
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity
The only thing in life achieved without effort is failure
Time Circuits... On. Flux Capacitor.... fluxxing.

Depends if they were a complete moron or not. Just because someone 'mostly' agrees with my views doesn't mean they're also not completely retarded.
Totally agree with this. Which apparently doesn't mean I think you are smart. But most of the people that are on my side of issues (generally the liberal side) are pretty stupid about their reasons for getting there, I would take a well reasoned argument from someone I disagree with over mindless echoing of talking heads with no idea of what their opinion means.

What kind of experience would you consider relevant and valid?
You need to have leadership skills and be able to compromise. A business type leader maybe would be ok, a CEO type position.

A President without experience, can't get anything done. Case and point: Obama.

Obama had at least some political experience- he was a Senator after all.

I would vote for them but the media interests would never allow them to see the light of day. Look what they do to every political outsider.

Yes.
I'd support someone with military experience or someone with professional experience (doctor, lawyer, accountant) who was integral in establishing legislation.

Some yes, but he couldn't pull in the favors and support that a longstanding politician would have access too after having spent a large amount of time in Washington. Like every other industry, it's who you know that gets things done.
