I think if we were to get rid of all the "good ole boys" then it might make a difference, but with how DC works, the new and naive senators and reps are chewed up and spit back to be reformed into what is expected on Cap Hill.

Apart from being sure that they are being truthful when it comes to a voting platform (i.e. they say they will never vote in higher taxes and their track record proves this), do you have another reason why they would need a track record? Can you elaborate?

No, because it seems like they would so easily be swayed by petty corruption. At least people who have seen things go down before know what to expect and know what they can shrug off.
