I get yelled at at work because I can never hear my dispatcher over the radio. I ask him to repeat himself more than once sometimes and he thinks I'm screwing with him. My hearing ability in my left ear is diminished and thats the side the speaker is on. He doesn't understand the issue I have.

Or... you could take the reasonable approach and explain the situation to him.

For some reason I have a hard time hearing people when I'm on the phone. I can hear in person fine though.

yeah i cannot hear anything on the phone, people have to speak very clearly like im a senior citizen. also i generally dont make eye contact with people when they talk because its weird, awkward, and unnerving to me so i know its not that
prob just mentally impaired

I always have a hard time hearing someone on the phone. Even if it's quiet around me, One finger goes in the other ear, and I'm practically shoving the phone down my ear canal.

They called me to figure out where I was. I didn't answer.
I figure they think I got lost in the mountains somewhere between here and the 7 hour drive they wanted me to make just to interview for a job that most highschool grads could get...
