restaurants and food service are managed and run by scumbags who will think nothing of stabbing you in the ass at any and every opportunity and mostly dont give a rats ass if they get caught.

that said, happy to hear you shut it down if for no other reason than to say "you got caught".

I will say when I first started in the IT business, I worked at this crappy tech support company that charged about 90/hour for support. Techs were expected to not only fix customer issues but sell support plans. First month I worked there I came in second place for the whole company. They said since I was still considered "in training" I wasn't eligible for the bonus you got for doing so. I never sold another plan.

you aint lived till you worked in the kitchen of a restaurant. most of the cooks I knew were on coke most of the time and sometimes it was supplied as part of their pay by the GM.

The "trainee = no bonus" concept has been abused in pretty much every sales-related position since the dawn of time. In fact, show me a salesman who hasn't been jerked around by their employer using shady practices with their bonuses and I'll show you a salesman who isn't really a salesman.

I'll tell you how the ones I knew got there and it wasnt by climbing the ladder. it was either knowing the owner or being part of the owners family.
