So we're going to be hosting the upper elementary class lizard next week over break

I've cared for many cats, rodents, and birds, but this is going to be my first time working with a reptile. Any suggestions, ACF?
And no, feeding it crickets or whatever is not likely to bother me.

Species changes care requirements.
I had a couple of lizards, when I was younger - Prehensile Tail Skink, and a Blue Tounged Skink - that required a lot of care.

great question. I honestly don't know. guess I'll find out when the thing comes home this afternoon.  hope they'll include some food for it when we get it.

Oh, damn. So that's why Spikey died...
I should correct myself... they will eat other things, for sure, but anything else will be totally bad for them. Animal protein will make them grow really fast but also die at a much younger age, for instance.
Some people feed the things cat or dog food... /sigh
