You can never get a hold of him when you need to.

When he says he'll be in the area for 3 days, he might not even stop in. If he does, you'll never know until he's there.

Every time he breaks up with someone, he moves into our house for awhile until he finds a new place.

He can afford a decent place if he worked 10-15 hours a week, just enough to supplement his 15k/year pension. But, he hates authority and having to take instructions from anyone... but chooses not to.


I feel like the father figure of my wife's father... It's strange.

I still receive monetary compensation from him. $500/month + his share of anything stocked for food. It's not like it's a free ride (which makes it more confusing as to why he keeps needing to come back).
