To get out of my lease for this damn apartment...
I've been trying to get a sublet for the past month and half, and nobody seems to want to sublet from me.
This is for the State of New York, since I know that tenant laws differ from state to state so...
I simply want to get out of the damn lease so I can just go home and spend time annoying my mother to death while saving money. 
I've tried asking the office to simply let me out, and as I expected, they said no. So, time to find another way out.

Usually most leases have a reletting fee clause where you pay a 1.5 months rent or some "penalty" to get out of the lease. New York may be all kinds of f'ed up when it comes to this though, no idea.
Did you read your lease?

Naw, he ain't... I'm approx 6 or 7 hours west of him, and I thank god cuz *mutters*...
And Caledic - no matter what I do... move out, I'll still have to pay rent, and if I default, they'll go after my mother. And then, my mother will go after me. So... I don't need her scorn...
And R_C - I've read it... There's no clause re: paying 1.5 rent on move out... I would still be liable for every cent due based on the lease.

It's either sublet, or stay.
You can't break the lease without having to pay.

I know, Hawk...
Subletting is what is pissing me off, lol...
Cuz I've had, so far, 8 potential sublets contact me... One was like, "Wait, all guys? My boyfriend won't let me do that..." (a female), another said "I changed my mind, I gotta follow my heart...", and etc...
And I've been looking for the last 6 weeks.
