Yeah. I had no idea the first couple of times I heard people talking about it. Thought they were talking about people injecting Epsom salts....which is more crazy than smoking banana peels. Really thought it was a joke.
Sadly, it's not. That crap is awful. One of the waitresses at my favorite all nite coffee shop was on the stuff. Nice women with a history of drug problems however. Ended up loosing everything she had. Had a psychotic episode on the stuff and tore herself and her daughter up pretty bad. Got out of jail for that, and ended up OD'ing on a mix of that stuff and oxy's. She is in jail now for stealing from her former job and from some old guy she ended up whoring herself out too in order to buy the stuff.
It's an epidemic in eastern Tennessee. On the news every day. They sell the stuff everywhere, even in gas stations. It's not uncommon to see people in cars with South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Georgia or Alabama plates buying 2 or 3 thousand dollars worth of the stuff at a time at the local gas station.
Police tried to shut it down, but it's not illegal. Guy at one head shop in the area bragged that he was making 20K a day in profit off the stuff. That's all it took for everywhere to start selling it.
Lots of bills to outlaw it have been proposed, but they will simply change the formula a tiny bit and sell it under a different name. Already see some stuff called "fish food" being sold to the same people who buy the bath salts....sad.

they have stories about it on the news all the time around here (Memphis)...they also did one about the tampons soaked in alcohol too just a week or so ago.

Yea, designer drugs are getting popular again. The synthetic cannaboids annoy me the most. We spend billions keeping relatively harmless pot out of the US only to end up with a bunch of stupid kids tearing themselves up in Spice or K2 or wtf they market it as now...

I just saw an episode of Intervention about a kid who used bath salts habitually. He became schizophrenic and saw shadow people stalking him, and heard voices in his head.
