Well if Cataclysm is minimal phasing, i would hate to see what they think over-phased was....

Yeah, seriously, that is so off-base it's nonsensical. Did anyone call him out on this in the thread?
Blizzard did with phasing just what it did with other toys it invents (like vehicles) - shove them down everyone's throat at every opportunity and make it clear you do not advance content without embracing it.

phasing was introduced with WOTLK and was one of the "main" features of that expansion, before that there was no such thing as phasing in WOW.
