I don't like Road Trippin With the Neelys either. Her voice and the overly smoozy lovey crap just drives me nuts. I don't like Good Eats though either. I like the recipes but Alton Brown just tries too hard.
I'm not a cake maker but I love Ace of Cakes. It cracks me up.

I'll watch Good Eats, Iron Chef, and an occasional throwdown or two. What I don't like is dinner impossible, anything with the Neely's and any of the millions of Rachel Ray programs. Her voice and perky personality make me want to punch a kitten in the face.
I like shows that help with technique, or can put an interesting spin on a traditional dish.

When Neelys come on food tv goes off.
I do find the one with the foreign speaking guy, not sure his name or show, interesting. But other than that I think some of those folks have been doing it to long they not playing with a full basket anymore 
I did get a good recipe from Rachel over the weekend. But can't remember what.
