It was signed for by someone's name I don't recognize. UPS says it was delivered at noon, and I was home at that point, you'd think they'd have rung the bell at least.

If I cant get it back, do I take it up with UPS or Newegg?

Yes. Well, kind of. It was an android phone
and I took a two hour trip out of my way because FedEx customer support said I could pick it up, only to be told they didn't have access to it when I got there.
And, the whole reason we took that option was so I could get the phone the day before I made that trip. I ended up refusing the package and buying the phone from a physical location. I stand by my rant.

I think someone else signing for my package when I'm home is a slightly different scenario.

Yeah, it just reminded me of it.

No, its a hispanic name and my apartment building is the only one on my street that isn't hispanic. Maybe they delivered it one house down or something.

Take it up with UPS, and find the person who signed for it.

The driver just needed a signature to say who they left it with. The person who has it is on the hook for it. If they don't give it to you it's theft.

I'm not sure what UPS will do. I know a driver can release any package without a signature as long as one isn't required, but if the package is stolen he's on the hook for it. I'm not sure how they would handle someone falsely signing for it.

I do know drivers are in a hurry, and they'll definitely be looking for someone to sign. If someone was there and said they'd sign for it I doubt they'd take much time to question it.

Edit: Newegg won't be responsible for it. Once they gave it to UPS and paid them it became UPS's problem.

This is new york, if someone signed for it, its already re-sold. Finding them will be difficult unless they used their real name, and even then I don't know anyone on my block except those who live in my building. I'm hoping it will be returned to me, but usually when someone in the building signs for a package, they leave it by the apartment door or the front entrance (theres only 3 apartments in the building so we don't have to worry about thieves).

Ground, and it was delivered surprisingly fast. It was shipped tuesday and delivered wednesday. I didn't even check the tracker until last night.
