Unions make it way more difficult for US companies to compete in a global economy. Also all the regulations, taxes, and green laws make it more difficult too.
If you want a GREAT long lasting product, look for the union label and 'Made in America' label. ffs China sends us toys made with lead. Out sourcing or moving you company to a third world means uneducated works and crap products.

Those jobs benefit the entire economy. As do the jobs created by those jobs. As does the fact that folks getting a paycheck, rather than getting unemployment are a net positive.
