LSU beat #4 Oregon on a neutral field, and #17 West Virginia.
That's pretty much the opposite of a cream puff non conference schedule.

Reading comprehension isn't your strong suit. I never said LSU had a cream puff ooc. I said year in and out most sec teams do have one. I even gave examples. And LSU was ranked #4 at the start of the year. Most years LSU plays some combination of Tulane, Louis-Monroe, Louis-Tech, and Louis Lafayette. Throw in McNeese State, Samford, Troy, and North Texas and you have their OOC schedule almost every year.
I am sorry but for the majority of the conference and time, the SEC plays cream puff OOC. Look it up yourself.

Ah, now you're arguing about quality of wins and losses. Once you start doing that then Oklahoma State is back in the equation.
Let's discuss the quality of OK State's loss.

Only if you talk about the quality of their wins. The computers say theirs were better than Alabama's.

So are we handwaving away the fact that they lost to a 6-6 also ran because they played some good teams (who can't play a lick of defense) as well?

Unless the best team wasn't included in the game.
That year USC won the AP championship but didn't play in the title game, who do you think was the best team?
