A very large portion of the violence in the middle east is directly attributable to European meddling. 
False dichotomy. If there was no meddling over there , there would be all kinds of tribal fighting.
That's hard to say.
If we hadn't meddled so much perhaps one group would have established dominance and they would be well on their way to building a stable and profitable society.
We have been causing regime change and actively destabilizing that area of the world for a long time.

Did you read how it actually happened? It was a magnetic bomb attached to the side of the car as it drove along the highway. Two guys on motorcycles drove up, attached it, and drove off. That's a blockbuster movie kind of kill.
