What is wrong with Netflix?

For the past couple of months several genre groups have disappeared from the interface search. Horror, Independent, Drama..etc, most of them are gone and have been for a while. Logging into a computer shows them all, but from a device like a Roku box or Xbox they do not show.
A little googling on this matter suggests Netflix did not want the Gay & Lesbian genre to show so they slimmed down the list entirely as a smokescreen claiming the list was too long. They have consciously made it less functional doing this. Asinine.

I haven't really noticed, and to be honest their categories were getting out of hand. I had one recently that had something to do with family-friendly shows for ages 2 - 4 with strong women. O_o

with each "update" of the Netflix user interface on PS3, it gets worse and worse.

didn't they lose more than half their customer base?
They probably can't afford to pay for the extended library anymore.

i used to be able to spend all day surfing their anime and watching stupid stuff. now all i can find is garbage. i cant even find the old kungfu movies with the bad voice overs any more.
if it gets much worse, im just going to cancel it

Horror and independent both show up as genres through my XBox. I've been under the impression that the displayed genres corrolated to recent activity. My genres tend to change. I think it is lame regardless.

I wish there was a way to deactivate whatever controls that. You could watch one movie and suddenly it's giving you categories like "Big Busted Nuns Who Get Horribly Savaged by Gangs of Inner-City Hoodlums."
