So, what ones do you use and like?
What features should I look for?
Is a $30 set OK or should I spring for the more expensive ones?

I use them all the time, literally I have one in my ear 8 hours a day.
No, a $30 unit will not work. It will sound like crap to you and to the other people. Don't waste your money.
Plantronics Voyager is OK. The best unit for my money if the Blueant Q2.
I got mine for $79.00 and it's worth every penny.

$69 on newegg. STFU and buy. You won't do better than this unit at that price.

Actually I guess it's 89, it was 69 at some other place. Anyway find one...you won't regret it, it's got the best sound hands down.

Alright thanks! This is the kind of recommendation I was looking for. I don't need to use it that much, just when I'm driving, which apparently sends out a universal signal to my entire contact list "Call ME NOW, I'm in the car!!!"

I bought the Q2 on badgers recommendation and I don't like it as much as the voyager pro. The voyager is more comfortable and has longer range. but both have great sound quality. I don't know why he'd call the voyager just "ok"

Another word for expensive is successful.

The original Voyager was great. The new one is not so much. I will give you that the Plantronics sits better in your ear but the new back is heavy and not as comfy as the original design. The blueant take some getting used to with the funky ear clip but it's very comfy. And the sound on the Blueant is just amazing. Then again my Voyager was not an HD model. I don't know what it is about the new Plantronics Voyager design, I just didn't like it as much.
Either one is prolly fine, Plantronics Voyager Pro HD or the Blueant Q2. Stay away from the Jawbone Hero though, it's garbage.
Edit - GC might have a point on range....the Blueant does lose contact if you walk away. I remember my Plantronics having better range now that he mentions it. It doesn't matter most of the time but it does cause me to take my phone with me when I am at home, no walking into the kitchen without the phone, it'll lose connection.

Edit-GC might also have a point on the top of his head. In fact I think it's rather likely.
