Those elements travel up the food chain in larger and larger concentrations.
The problem isn't that it happens, or is happening, the problem is that the Japanese government initially said they'd pay for it, then didn't then told farmers to keep farming because it was safe to and it wasn't and are now in the process of both not paying and not allowing any of their goods out to market.
Instead of just saying no don't grow anything we'll pay for you to sit fallow for x amount of years or x amount of animals lost per year... until we figure out the scope of this thing.
Bureaucrats are truly the ass end of humanity...
