Druid is the easy mode "do it all" class - even more so than a Paladin believe it or not. Honestly I am failing to understand why Blizzard even continues with non-hybrid classes like the Hunter, Mage, Warlock, and Rogue with the way they've made Druid, DK, and Paladins.

You will want your second spec to be tanking as a Druid and your primary spec whatever you like best of the healing/ranged DPS/melee DPS options for your primary spec. In fact you might still be able to make a pretty good tanking (bear)/melee DPS (cat) hybrid spec in one spec, not sure about that anymore though.

Yes it will require multiple sets of gear to optimize your multiple specs, but if you can spec to tank, and you can even moderately competently handle tanking, gathering gear via 5-mans is absurdly easy, in fact you will likely be able to gather 2 full sets of gear in the time it would take a class with only one role (hunter, mage, warlock, rogue) to gather one set.

If ignorance were painful, half the posters here would be on morphine drips.
Everyone playing WoW knows everything about playing two classes: 1) their own and 2) Hunters

Yah druids are crazy. I played the free trial a few weeks back because a friend was on the server.

I got the druid from 0-70 in 6 days without even trying. =|
