Its kinda scary when libs think Obama is to the right of center.

The US essentially has no commies, socialists or other "real leftists" in power so the boundaries of left and right are distorted if you look at it from a purely US point of view.

Heck, after kicking out most of the "RINOs" over the past decade or so, the Republicans (in power) are nearly entirely a far right party now with almost no one near center.

Its kinda scary when Republicans don't realize how far right their party is which distorts their view of what the center is.

No, their worst nightmare is Obama.

He just co-opted every single reasonable thing they have ever said in the past 10 years (note, they have said a hell of a lot of unreasonable things about the same subjects) on subjects as varied as immigration, exports, tax credits, and entrepreneurship....and put them together into a positive, upbeat, and appealing package. Then he added on things that the "conservatives" can't even bring themselves to think about, but that the vast majority of the country is in favor of.

His message for the year will be "We are getting better, we are fixing this mess, here is how we go forward (with evidence to support his claims and his plans)

The GOP message for the year will be the same one it has been spouting for the last three "Aiiiiiigggguuuuuhhhh, we are doomed, everything is screwed up, no way to fix it, cut taxes for job creators and cut services for everyone else."

Game. Set. Match.

It is a bit odd to see the GOP singling out old pre GW Bush Republican ideas as left wing/socialist policy.

I think Yoss hit the nail on the head though. /shrug
