What exactly does it mean when you say someone hates "America". What exactly is it that they hate? Depending on this answer, I may indeed hate America.

It means they hate you, but don't want to single you out and hurt your feelings.

Ok, so by your definition, I do indeed hate America, but there are many people who do not like the 49ers who have been said to "hate America" so I must reject your definition.
Is America the US Government? If so, I may hate America.

Untrue, I agree with you politically for the most part Yuki but you hate America and I don't.

No, I love America, I just hate what it's become!

I do dislike jingoism, but that's got nothing to do with America in particular. I hate the mindless patriotism I see in Japan just as much.
Maybe having a global perspective is tantamount to hating America?

Yeah it is your global perspective, not the fact that you hate everything.

It's different for everyone. Why are you trying to wrap it up into a neat package.

I'm trying to wrap it up in a neat package so I can find out if I hate America. This way, the next time someone accuses me of it, and I find I do hate America, I can say, " ep, I do!" or if I don't I can say, "Hey, go )($*)#(* yourself."
