I have a great respect for the vast majority of cops but after seeing so many crooks in high places that ran things like their own little kingdom at the expense of what was right it drove me to ill health.
I am now on high blood pressure medication from fighting the system. I went through a stage of having panic attacks (which is VERY not me) that I couldn't explain.
Here's some tips on how NOT to endear yourself to the higher ups:
1. When suggestions that pay cuts may be needed comes along just say "They'd better start with us in the command staff first"
2. Tell your boss and peers that they are wrong in the way they want to do something because the statute says to do it different. Then point out that not only are they wrong, they are not AUTHORIZED to do what they suggest
3. rinse/repeat
