Second person I know who dropped dead in the past couple of days. WTF?
He had no history of drug or booze abuse, was reasonably in shape, didn't smoke....
Came home from his girlfriends house and took a nap....and never woke up. His mother found him when she tried to get him up for dinner. Baby of the family, a late in life child, 4 older siblings, who are all a wreck at this point.
I barely knew the guy, met him a few times when we both happened to be at his sisters house at the same time. He was funny and smart and was in grad school after spending 4 years in the Marine Corps.
Drove his sister down to her parents house in the early AM as she was too upset to be driving. I got out of there as soon as possible and came back home. She just texted to me that early indications are it was a blood clot, though they don't know yet why it happened.
Life is short, but it shouldn't be that short. RIP

Sorry for the families loss. I hope the family is able to get a concrete & correct answer as to what exactly went wrong medically. That sort of thing happening to a 26 year old really needs to be figured out.

You have seen this before. It is always difficult to live through the end of a friend. I hope your grief has meaning. Each day may be our last. We dont need to ruminate about this. It is just something which is always in the background of our lives.

I understand this. But as we get close to our own mortality, it gets a little suspenseful. The oh my god its over, really over. I believe we hang around until some soul purpose we feel intuitive about is realized.
