Someone rolled under my truck and cut the catalytic converter. Im insured, but Oie vey!

Not sure. Certain vehicles are target due to the ease of access to the catalytic converters. Mostly certain Toyota trucks, and 4 runners. Luckily my subaru's catalytic converter is not easy for a thief to gain access to.

It's pretty common in my experience. Not sure how well you know Nor Cal Modeeb, but my roommates catalytic converter was stolen from his 4 runner which was parked in our driveway. This was when I lived in El Dorado Hills, and its a pretty low crime area. I was told with some Toyota's the converter is right under the drivers door, and you don't even have to go under the vehicle to get it. Just drop down to your knees, and saw it off.

From the articles I found, they get $50-$150 for them.

It's not a city thing. I live in podunk tiny town, and catalytic converters get stolen here every day. About 80% OF Vehicles around here are trucks, most of them jacked up and easy to get under.
