He said that writing scifi was natural for him because he already believes in a scifi religion.

He also describes himself as a Christian.

If you love Christ and scifi you should probably consider converting.

I read the entire Memory of Earth series by Card, not even realizing by the end that it was a Mormon parable.

Decent series though...

His hatrack website of political writings got me interested in politics. I lived in a very liberal environment when Bush was reelected and all i heard about was the idiocy of Bush and how the war was for oil. This didn't sit right for me and Card did a great job explaining the other side. Its somewhat ironic that him interesting me led to my eventual disdain for his overt, yet denied, partisanship.

I thought it was a pretty bad series (especially for him) until I realized he was trying to squeeze up an updated Mormon thing. Then it was just kinda crappy.

I've only read Ender's Game besides this series. I thought Memory was a pretty epic journey, and was kind of sad after they made it back to Earth and then had to end it. I read it in High School, so maybe it wouldn't hold up today if I re-read it. Dunno.

I thought the 2nd Ender book was good too. 3 and 4 sucked. All the books about Bean sucked.

It has been a long time since I read that series as well, but at the time I was on a Card bender and had read most of his stuff to date. The first three Alvin the Maker series was pretty cool (also kinda Mormonish), as were several of his short story collections and, of course, Ender.
