For the majority of Americans, the last recession never ended.

He is just predicting an 'official' double-dip.

For the person who's been out of work for 2 years, the difference between .5% growth and .5% contraction isn't much.

do a google search for ECRI forecast.


Every few months they flip from 'No recession in sight' to 'recession tomorrow!'.


They called for a recession in 2010 and 2011.


In Nov 2007 they announced that in spite of the ongoing economic turbulence there was no recessionary weakness. They called the '2008' recession in March 2008. Unfortunately the recession started in Dec 2007.

"it has never been wrong when forecasting that a recession would start" ... That is more than a little misleading they have predicted exactly two recessions and have been wrong about the direction the economy is taking many times.
