Firstly, the USA does not "deserve" anything from Canada. Secondly, if the cost of this oil is the invaluable ecology that Canada is famously known for, then just try and pry it from our cold, dead hands.

The environmental impact of oil production gets grossly exaggerated all the time.
It's a natural substance. It comes from the ground. If you get a little on the ground it doesn't wreck the environment for miles around.
