repeal Obamacare. Republican challengers are all planning to run on the promise of repealing Obamacare. If Democrats do it first it takes away a big weapon from the Republicans.

Obama and the Democrats have been truly awful since they took power. The voters want to hammer them, but they can't bring themselves to hand the reins to any of the Republican dumbasses running for President. This fact is going to focus their ire on Democrat incumbents in the House and Senate.

The best shot Democrats have is to simply mock and publicize all the nonsense the right has been spewing over the last year. Of course, most Democrats are too cowardly to actually confront a Republican who is spewing right wing nonsense that few Americans actually believe. For example, almost two thirds of Americans say health insurance providers should cover birth control, but, a significant number of Democrats are too cowardly to represent that majority. Republicans, as usual, could care less what the majority believes, if that goes against their ideology.

It will definitely be a hard struggle, as almost twice as many Democratic seats are up for grabs as are Republican seats. I suspect Republicans will gain control of the Senate. I also suspect that one of the first things they do is to try and eliminate the filibuster, even though, over the last few years, they have used it more than any Senate in history by a huge margin. They will suddenly decide that filibusters are un-democratic, and, of course, the MSM will go along with it.


On the other hand, I think Democrats have a fair chance of taking the House back. Nancy Pelosi as Speaker again. I think that will upset right wingers even more than Obama winning again.

Hearteningly, it doesn't appear to be working. Guys seem to be very susceptible to right wing nonsense. Women, much less so. This contraceptive nonsense the right is pushing affects women directly. Women vote at a higher % than men and they already favor Democrats. Republicans have already lost minorities, the educated and the young. About the only bracket they win is older white guys, and, possibly, the Outpost. They need to win the older white guy vote by more than they lose the women vote. Gore got more votes, overall, than Bush but lost because of Electoral College reasons. Kerry wasn't able to capitalize on the women vote, so he lost. Obama did, so he won. I think the Republicans could have focused on family economic issues and gained enough women votes to have gotten an edge this election if they had acted in anything close to a sane, let's do what we can to address women's immediate economic concerns kind of way, but, they are doing everything they can to alienate every woman in the country.

Close to 100% of the women in this country use contraceptives and they are glad that they are covered by insurance. Mr. Republican Limbaugh called all of them sluts and said they all owe him sex tapes. If Democrats actually have the courage of their convictions and keep slamming Rush about this, Democrats could well get 60% of the female vote this election cycle.
