When democrats control the house, senate, and governor. All that's needed is a simple majority in both houses. Now the taxpayers get to pay for a special session of the legislature.
They did get the important stuff done though, like gay marriage.

I find that unlikely. They may not call it taxes but I'm sure they want to raise some fees here and there.

I'm not sure how else to say this.. There are several democratic budget proposals, none of which require more than a simple majority to pass. They aren't attempting to raise taxes.
