I'm thinking most of the people who end up in solitary often enough to drive them insane probably don't make it out of prison in the first place.

Well a lot of them do believe it or not and when they get out they can't function and they do something stupid to someone innocent and end up back in the hole.

For those that are against the death penalty, this would be a great substitute.

Life in solitary confinement with no human contact whatsoever.

Bring back the Chateau d'If!

Who cares if they go crazy since they aren't ever getting out.

Well that is a good point. Solitary confinement makes many people go insane.

The guards of the prison are put at risk cause a lot of them get attacked and hospitalized from guys that are in a box for 23 hours a day. Yeah innocent people are getting hurt but that doesn't matter as long as justice is being served right?
