Of course, they couldn't do that if Republicans hadn't chosen a process where there was both a primary and a caucus, in which the results of the primary counted for absolutely nothing and the delegate nominated in the caucuses aren't bound to vote for anyone and who are only there to chose other delegates, under the close supervision of establishment Republican officials, who will go to the National Convention, again not bound to vote for anyone on even the first ballot.
