Shadowbane was being hyped as the EQ killer before DAOC came out. I remember lots of conversations in public chat about how awesome Shadowbane was going to be and how EQ would be deserted when it came out. 
Except that DAoC came out two full years before Shadowbane. 
You do understand that games go through these things called development, right? And in Shadowbane's case, it was a long, painful process.
