Something to ponder. If he grew almost a foot in three years, which it seems like he did, he is probably very clumsy. Takes a while to adjust to a new height. He also probably subconsciously thinks of himself as being a small kid.
I was always one of the smallest kids in my class. I was 4'10" and 85# in 8th grade. I was almost 6 feet tall and 150# in 11th grade. And clumsy. And I still had the mind set of being a little kid. It takes a few years to adjust, both mentally and physically.
Meanwhile, even in that photo, where he is trying to look all tough and macho, he doesn't look very tough or macho. He looks like an ordinary 17 year old.
