Absolutely is. It involves music and manipulation of said music. Just like playing a guitar and performing bends, vibrato, or bar dives. Both are alterations of music and both require talent.

Has the OP ever tried to scratch? That shit is difficult if you don't know what you are doing. I ruined my sister's vinyl collection by trying to do this back in '83.
