Don't do this
Do not pick up the snake or try to trap it because this may put you or someone else at risk for a bite.
Do not apply a tourniquet.
Do not slash the wound with a knife.
Do not suck out the venom.
Do not apply ice or immerse the wound in water.
Do not drink alcohol as a pain killer.
Do not drink caffeinated beverages.
Snake bite season begins in May as snakes look for food
About 7,000 people are bitten by venomous snakes in the U.S. annually

Over the last 2 days I have killed 3 snakes. 2 were blacksnakes and one was a common garter. I picked them up by the tail and gave em a little "whip" action.
If you've never tried it, give it a go. It doesn't take NEAR as much whip as you'd think.
All the snakes were small. I'm looking for bigger game. My wife is pretty convinced I'm a bit off-kilter for doing this, lol.
