And we thought Pink Slime was bad.
"Basins and buckets of boys' urine are collected from primary school toilets. It is the key ingredient in "virgin boy eggs", a local tradition of soaking and cooking eggs in the urine of young boys, preferably below the age of 10."
"It takes nearly an entire day to make these unique eggs, starting off by soaking and then boiling raw eggs in a pot of urine. After that, the shells of the hard-boiled eggs are cracked and they continue to simmer in urine for hours."

Urine is sterile so there is likely nothing harmful about the eggs. And it sounds like the buyers of the eggs are 100% aware of how they were prepared, so it isn't a shock of an undiscovered ingredient like happened with the pink slime. The health claims for them are almost certainly garbage though, and any such effects from eating them are likely placebo.

Urine is sterile (to everyone) in the bladder. To excrete the urine however guess what it has to pass through?

Want to take bets on whether that is sterile?
