I just installed dual client. and when I try to connect i get this error.

Can't open the data files. Check that they exist and that you have permission to write to them. The program will now exit.

I read thru the help file and didn't see anything I thought pertained to this.

Has anyone seen this or know what I should look at?

Thank you.

Hmm now that I'm thinking about it. My other account isn't TOD.

Would this cause AC not to work?

check that you have copied the correct files to the paths listed in ACDualClient.

Click the Copy Files button in the Path Options and then put a check in every box and click Copy.

Also make sure that the dat files are not set to Read-Only, and ensure that you're using the correct ToD paths regardless of whether the account is ToD or not.

You have to be using the latest AC:ToD information in order to be able to play AC.

Nizhoni : what error are you getting?

It seems odd that you would uncheck the boxes, and then they would automatically re-check themselves. Are you running with the -rodat option turned on? That would cause the dat files to become Read-Only. Other than that, I'm not sure of anything that would automatically change a file to read-only except some other 3rd party "Security" software that could do it to help protect you from yourself.
