Finally! Some heavy snow to (start) making a winter playground for my boys. (pics)

We get a good amount of snow so every year so I build a big fort and iced snow slides for the little guys.
It was snowing nice, heavy wet snow last night. Since it was supposed to go down to -12c, I spent some time putting frosty together when I could. My oldest put his parts on this morning.
He kept giving "Frosty" big hugs.
I made the mistake of making a large snow slide last year (kids FLEW off the one last year) so I'm starting small and will go from there.
It's just under 3ft high (Just under 3 years is oldest). Picture makes it look smaller. I used a 1ftx4ft cut of plywood for extra support incase one of the larger neighbourhood kids tries to run up (and unintentionally break) the slide again this year.

it's about 46 in Boston.. Still pretty mild here, except for a few nights.

50 minutes north of Toronto
It's been really mild so far. Last year we already had 5ft high snow banks after a week of constant snow squalls that cancelled buses for 5 days around us.

I miss snow 
When I went on a trip to the Grand Canyon a few weeks back there was snow on the ground from a brief storm that had gone through the previous weekend. I swear the kids enjoyed that more than anything else we did on that trip.

I really love the snow. It's great with young kids because they'll spend a lot of time jumping around, climing and sliding down the hills.
I need to get my winter castle plan ready though... need to start shovelling the walkways and building the walls up gradually with enough size that the kids can walk on them.
I also like the exercise it gives me while having fun with the boys. Lifting snow blocks and building snow stuff really keep gets you in shape while having fun.

I just came back in from sliding. We had 5 kids out there in the blowing wind and snow.

I dug out my car from 3 ft of snow at least 3 times last winder---too much snow.
