ive had membership to both
24 hour was more convenient (the whole 24 hours thing), the other had a bigger pool so more than 2 ppl at a time could swim, which i like to do also.

I have to use a local one with pretty crappy hours :/ only till 9 PM on weekdays, and 5 PM on weekends. I start my work shift at 10 so it'd have been nice if it stayed open until then so I could exercise on my way to work.

Swimming is my thing, both gyms have lap pools and spas. Other than that I'm likely to use the treadmills and bikes mostly.
I also want my daughter to go, the price of membership is much the same as just going to the public pool which has really restricted hours.
I think the 24 hour thing would be good for me right now though, as I stay up pretty late.

The LA Fitness is open until Midnight Mon-Thur, till 10 on friday and 8 on weekends.

Which 24 Hour? The Kent Kangley one not so good IMO.

The pool was always in use, the hot tub always had greasy people that would hang out in it (talking people you really didn't want to chill out with in a hot tub). The manager was a complete douche when I cancelled. In general, a lot of annoying people working out. Free weight section sucked for being such a large gym.
On a good note, there are a lot of cardio machines and TVs.

I've never used the other one, but 24 hr is nice for the hours and mine has a nice saltwater pool so your hair doesn't get all chlorinated.
Definitely gets more traffic than the other ones though, so I can basically never go during peak hours unless I just want to sit and wait.
